Kanashi continued to stare at them, before smiling softly.
As quiet as a whisper she said her next words, "I wish not for him too. To do so would taint his perfect image...I do not wish to make him a shell of a man he once was..."
The fire finally turned red, and continued to lick and play at her fingertips.

"We were simply walking. Laughing along and talking. It was a forbidden love, guardians were not supposed to fall in love with their protectors and the protectors weren't suposed to fall in love with their guardians, but that didn't stop us. Everyone said it only made us stronger.

He died, not only because he basically drowned, but because he is a fire creature, and he was surrounded with water. That alone causes instant death.
When I found the killer, he said he did it to see my reaction...I gave him the punishment he deserved. That's why, you should never really play with fire..you might get burnt.." stated Kanashi bitterly in the end, as if hinting what she did to the killer.
She burned him alive. And she was still proud of it.
